New theatre comes to the Nambour stage

3bCreative has been making an impact on the Sunshine Coast theatre scene since 2016 when it was started by Anne Grant.

Anne aims to give new opportunities to performers, directors and crew in a variety of spaces in order to bring performances to a wider public.

Following on from the highly popular Aussie classic, A Stretch of the Imagination which played at the Black Box in Nambour, 3bCreative is back, presenting two plays never before seen in Queensland.

Krishnan’s Dairy by Jacob Rajan and Justin Lewis has been called one of New Zealand’s most popular plays and has gathered rave reviews wherever it has showed.

It details the experiences of Gobi and Zena Krishnan, who emigrated from India to New Zealand to start a family and a convenience store, the “Dairy” in Kiwi parlance.

Krishnan’s Dairy is supported by Scraps, a brand new one-act play by Nambour’s Joy Hinckley.

Anne Grant believes the Black Box Theatre, which is run by the Old Ambulance Station Gallery volunteers, is a wonderful but under-appreciated intimate theatre space.

This double bill starts on Friday May 31 for a limited season of four performances.

Bookings are essential and may be made at  www.trybooking.com/events/landing/1164047.
