The countdown is on for the Woombye Community Library Winter Book Sale

by Cathy Cash

The first half of 2025 has flown by and we find ourselves again with well stocked library shelves and boxes of good quality community donations as we prepare for our Winter Book Sale on Saturday 19 July.

Our volunteers will be set up and ready for cash sales from 8am through to midday. Our famous Winter Warmer raffle basket tickets will also be on sale.

Thanks to several years of dedicated fundraising, we’ve been in the fortunate position recently to spend some money on a refresh of the library interior including the repainting of the front entry foyer and main doors, a top to toe spring (or should I say winter!) clean and brand new window coverings. We’ve even had a comfy new office chair kindly donated by Gary de Paoli.

A quick reminder to all our borrowers that we close the library at 4.30pm for the afternoon session during the winter months.

Our AGM will be held on Tuesday 15 July at midday in the main hall. Interested members of the community are welcome to attend. Please phone the library on 5442 2250 for more information.

Mark your calendar now for our Winter Book Sale at the Woombye Community Library on Saturday 19 July from 8am to 12 midday in the School of Arts Hall on Blackall Street. Both adult and children’s books will be going for a song.
