A blooming garden to help the Give Me 5 For Kids charity

Ron and Elaine Tincknell are both feverishly hedgestrimming, lawn mowing and plant positioning in an attempt put the final touches on their beautifully designed home parkland garden. Each year the Tincknells selflessly open their astonishing private garden to the public as an innovative way to raise awareness and much needed funds for charity. In the past, the pair have raised money for prostate cancer as well as a number of other community initiatives. This year the garden will be hoping to raise as much money as possible for “Give Me 5 for Kids”, a charity that are dedicated to raising much needed funds for local community hospitals as well as sick children and their families when they need it most.Set on over an acre block, the garden- called Kelly Field Camellias- is a stunning display of horticulture that is sure to amaze all those who attend. Ron and Elaine are very proud to present a detailed display of over 150 unique types of Camellia, an immaculately  manicured lawn peppered with magnificent large trees and assortment of unique plant species, located in Curramore, Maleny. The pair have chosen to specialise in Camellia reticulata, a species of Camellia native to southwestern China, known for its large vibrant flowers. “We just want to help out a charity, as well as support our community,” Ron said.Kelly Field Camellias will open its doors from 9am until 4pm, Saturday 28 June and Sunday 29 June. The Tincknells urge you to support their worthy cause, and to come and see the brilliant display of fragrant flowers they have on offer, all they ask is a donation upon entering.There will be produce stalls, a sausage sizzle and a plant sale, meaning you can takeyour favourite flower home with you.
