Palmwoods will welcome a new chapter in its hospitality story this month with the opening of Alsahwa Estate — a 30-acre regenerative agritourism venue built on the former Stonebridge Gardens property.
Opening Friday 27 June, the estate offers a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant overlooking landscaped gardens, wildflowers and estate dams. It is headed by acclaimed Sunshine Coast chef Sophie Phipps, whose seasonal menu draws from Alsahwa’s own spray-free gardens and local producers.
“The restaurant is a reflection of our values — to tread lightly on the earth, support our community, and nourish our guests with food grown in healthy soil,” Ms Phipps said.
The venue marks a new beginning for the Rifle Range Road site, which was lovingly developed over decades by the previous owners. Alsahwa’s new custodians are building on that legacy, with plans for long lunches, immersive workshops, curated picnics and community events under the guiding philosophy of “Mind. Body. Planet.”
Founder Jo said the vision for the estate extended beyond the plate. “We’ll be continuing to follow our ‘Mind. Body. Planet.’ philosophy, and look forward to sharing our Wellness in Nature and Estate Exchange events, as well as community Conscious movie nights over the coming months,” she said.
Alsahwa Estate is open Wednesday to Friday from 11am, and Saturday and Sunday from 7am until late. Just five minutes from Palmwoods and a short drive from the estate’s sister property Fila Casablanca in Verrierdale, the new venue is poised to become a unique destination in the hinterland.
