Blues on a roll: Unbeaten since round 6 QFA Div 1

The Hinterland Blues are unbeaten since May and hitting their stride in Queensland’s QFA Division 1 competition, turning heads in only their second year in the more competitive tier.

After a tough two-point loss to Caloundra in Round 6, the Blues have strung together three straight wins, toppling University of Queensland, Springwood and Moreton Bay with  dominant performances.

Round 9 was particularly impressive, with the Blues piling on 16 goals to bury Springwood by 39 points.

They backed it up in Round 10 with a 23-point win over Moreton Bay, overcoming inaccurate kicking to notch a solid 12.20 (92) to 10.9 (69) result at home.

The turnaround marks a stark contrast to last year’s struggles, and signals that Hinterland may be emerging as a genuine contender.

Fans won’t have to wait long for more action, with the Blues set to host Caloundra at 1pm this Saturday (June 28).

They then host Uni again at G Rae Oval on Saturday, July 5 and then travel to face Mayne at Enoggera on July 12.

The Blues will be keen to extend their unbeaten streak – and improve on their current fourth place on the ladder, behind Mayne, Springwood and Uni.
