Ānanda Yoga Nambour: A new home for movement, mindfulness & community
Nambour has a new space to breathe a little deeper. Ānanda Yoga Nambour - founded by local yoga teacher and long-time community builder Laurie Sale - has opened its doors, offering a warm, convenient, and heart-centred place for the community to move, reconnect, and unwind.
Laurie is well known in the region. She previously owned Sweetcorn Café, a vibrant local hub, and later created Our Space, a holistic healing centre. With Ānanda Yoga, she brings those same values of connection and care into a dedicated yoga environment. A lifelong student of yoga and now a qualified teacher, Laurie has shaped the studio with intention: a place where practice feels personal, grounded, and accessible.
The studio was created in response to a growing local need - a convenient yoga space right here in Nambour, without the long drive to the coast or the pressure of gym-based classes.
The timetable reflects that accessibility, offering a broad mix of yoga styles for all ages and abilities, including Vinyasa Flow, Slow Flow, Yin, 26&2 Hot Yoga, Restorative practices, Meditation, and even Pilates. The teaching team is made up of experienced local instructors who share Laurie’s vision for making mindful movement welcoming and inclusive.
At its heart, Ānanda Yoga Nambour is about more than postures. “The name “Ānanda” translates to deep, lasting joy - the kind that comes from feeling connected to yourself and your community,” Laurie said.
“My vision is that the space becomes a steady anchor for locals looking to build strength, reduce stress, or simply find a moment of peace in a busy week.”
Located at 1/97 Blackall Terrace, Nambour, the studio is now open and welcoming new students.
Everyone is invited to come as they are, roll out a mat, and discover their own version of Ānanda.
