Growing with Nambour: local dentist adds extra days to meet demand
With more local families choosing high-quality dental care close to home, Blackall Terrace Dental is proud to announce that Dr Aidan Major BDSc is now available Monday through Thursday, 8:30am to 5:00pm.
A former Royal Australian Navy Dental Officer, Dr Major joined the established dental practice earlier this year and quickly earned a reputation for his calm, thorough, and patient-focused care. Since his arrival, the clinic has seen a noticeable increase in demand, with many patients referring friends and family, prompting the decision to expand his availability.
“It’s incredibly encouraging to see that more people are prioritising their dental health,” says Practice Manager, Joseph Reiner. “We’re so pleased to offer extended hours to support that and to continue building a team that meets the needs of our growing community.”
With a background in both Defence and regional health settings, Dr Major brings over a decade of clinical experience in restorative dentistry, crowns and bridges, surgical extractions, and complex treatment planning. Known for his clear communication style and gentle manner, he has quickly become a trusted choice for both new and returning patients.
At Blackall Terrace Dental, conscious sedation is available for eligible patients, and like all dentists at the practice, Dr Major is a preferred provider with HCF’s More for Teeth program. He also bulk-bills eligible Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) patients, and the clinic offers bulk-billed children’s dental exams under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS).
Dr Major’s extended schedule marks another step in Blackall Terrace Dental’s steady growth since re-opening under new ownership in 2021. From an initial three treatment days per week, the clinic has expanded significantly under the direction of Practice Principal Dr Joseph Hollywood BDS, who continues to champion a model of dental care that prioritises time, attention, and clinical excellence.
The increase in appointment availability has also led to new employment opportunities, with the practice welcoming additional dental assistants and support staff to help meet growing patient demand.
“We’re committed to creating long-term, local jobs and providing care that’s thorough, respectful, and never rushed,” adds Mr Reiner. “Dr Major extending his availability alongside Dr Hollywood helps us serve more patients and continue building a legacy of care that the region can be proud of.”
