More prestigious accolades roll in for Nambour legal firm

Bradley and Bray Director, Jacob Corbett “Taking care of our team is central to our practice and is at the forefront of our company ideology.”

Early this month, Nambour law firm Bradley and Bray were awarded by Australasian Lawyer as a 2025 5-Star Employer of Choice, an accolade they also received in 2023. This latest award follows a series of honours the firm has received this year, including finalist nominations for Regional/Suburban Law Firm of the Year (Australian Law Awards), Queensland Solicitor of the Year and Regional Practitioner of the Year (QLS Excellence in Law Awards, as well as Director, Jacob Corbett being named among Australasian Lawyer’s Law Firm Leaders, and Partner, Bridie Edwards among its Future Legal Leaders.

While Mr Corbett was thrilled with all of the awards, it is the Employer of Choice award which has been particularly meaningful.

“Taking care of our team is central to our practice and is at the forefront of our company ideology,” he said.

“If we dedicate energy to our team, this will be reflected back to our clients. I need to be able to trust our people to do a great job, and they do,” he said. “Its not rocket science.”

According to Mr Corbett, staying across trends and cycles has been important in terms of understanding what staff need.

“Some of our team prefer flexibility of working hours, others value bonus structures. We have seen a slight trend towards pay sacrifice for flexibility though.

“We are strict about our working hours; between 9 and 5, we work as hard as we can, but then we go home. And on Fridays, we all leave at 2pm. I don’t think that people who are burned out are going to enjoy their work, and it is unreasonable to expect them to deliver to the highest standard if they are exhausted. And we all get an RDO on our birthday. It may seem like a small thing but we all appreciate it,” he said.

“We work hard during office hours but when we knock off, we feel a sense of achievement about the work we have done and our clients can rest assured that when the team comes back to work on Monday morning, they are motivated to do a great job.”
