Sunshine Valley Men’s Shed annual Garage Sale happens first weekend in October

Members of the SVMS come together for companionship, to learn new, and support the wider community.

The Sunshine Valley Men’s Shed (SVMS) is an organisation that assists in men’s health, well-being, and socializing. It also provides members with numerous opportunities to learn new skills, in orchard and horticultural activities, woodworking, metal working, RC model boats, art, and photography.

The Shed’s main day for members are Wednesdays, from 8:00am.

A registered charity, the SVMS is also involved in many community activities in the local area, and support and attend projects and events such as the Woombye State School vegetable garden project, the making of cutouts for the Chevallum State School ‘Strawbfest’, building display cabinets and honour boards for the Palmwoods Devils Rugby League club, supporting the Woombye Happy Days event and Sundale Retirement Village Garden Expo.

The shed is also engaged at times to restore and build items for the public as well as developing items for sale at its various markets, and of course, its annual ‘Garage Sale’.

The Garage Sale is an opportunity for members of the public to support the SVMS by picking up a variety of items, be it wooden toys for Christmas, furniture, tools, resin jewellery, and more. This year’s garage sale will be held on Saturday, October 4 from 6am to 2.30pm. The Men’s Shed is located at 279 Blackall Range Road, West Woombye. For further information phone 0498 463 430.
