Prestigious magazine recognises local lawyer
Each year, the prestigious Australasian Lawyer Magazine recognises the brightest and most promising young talents in the legal profession across Australia and New Zealand, and this year, Bradley & Bray Nambour’s Associate Director, Bridie Edwards, has been named amongst 87 rising stars.
“I feel extremely honoured to have been nominated,” Ms Edwards said.
“I had to make a submission of my details and achievements to date, from both a client and community perspective, and I was really thrilled by the award.”
No stranger to accolades and industry recognition, Ms Edwards is a staunch advocate for her clients, and also gives generously of her time to mentor up and coming law graduates from the University of the Sunshine Coast.
“Each year I volunteer during job skills week, conducting mock interviews and providing feedback to law students,” she said.
Ms Edwards is part of a progressive team at Bradley & Bray, who have been trailblazers when it comes to new technology and the fast changing laws that have accompanied it.
“We have been extremely adaptable because we can see the ways in which technology can assist clients in terms of saving time, and our staff get to enjoy greater efficiency creating a better working environment,” she explained.
“In 2019 we were the first firm to use the PEXA platform for a commercial real estate settlement. Now all settlements have to take place online. It saves a great deal of time, and sellers have quickly warmed to it as it means they get their money immediately. There is no more waiting for cheques to clear.
“I came into this firm keenly aware of the legacy left by its founders and it is so gratifying to look after generations of clients from the same family, help business people sell their businesses and move confidently and happily into the next stage of their lives, or assisting younger generations secure their first home. It is what it is all about.”
