Compass Open Day showcases education and opportunity for all abilities
Well known Sunshine Coast organisation, the Compass Institute, is hosting its annual Open Day at Compass Farm on Tuesday, October 14 from 10am to 2pm.
“Our Open Days are a wonderful way for people to see first hand how we are creating opportunities for people of all abilities to learn, grow, and thrive,” said Compass CEO and founder, David Dangerfield.
The event will be full of colour and entertainment, including circus themed activities, a wearable art fashion parade and a variety of stalls.
“Visitors are invited to tour our facilities and farm spaces, and meet trainees, staff and volunteers from each of our campuses,” he said.
Sunshine Coast Mayor, Rosanna Natoli will be cutting the ribbon on two new additions to Compass Farm – the huge Trades Training building and new Creative Arts Hub.
“These new facilities will offer ongoing opportunities to our trainees to further their education and equip them with skills that pave the way for them to enjoy meaningful endeavour in their lives,” Mr Dangerfield said.
The event also celebrates the 15th Anniversary of Compass Farm – a groundbreaking facility supporting 80 people with intellectual and/or physical disabilities in a truly beautiful working farm environment.
“We invite you to bring your family and friends and be part of a day that celebrates connection, opportunity and community spirit.”
The Compass Farm is at 48 Christensen’s Road, Hunchy.
