Craft Creations Nambour Inc has been meeting together for over 20 years at the Nambour Showgrounds most Tuesday mornings to share different crafts and to catch up.
“We also raise funds for the Cancer Council by hosting the Biggest Morning Tea, this year on the 2nd of June,” said group secretary, Lorraine Vietheer.
“As the Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show is ‘Celebrating 120 years of Show traditions’, our group thought that it would be fitting to celebrate this milestone birthday in our own way.”
“Everybody loves to check out the poultry section at the Show each year, so we decided to put together a chook quilt to enter into the Patchwork and Quilting section of the Show. When the Show is over, we will raffle it to help with our expenses,” she said.
The quilt is large enough to fit on a single bed, and features over a dozen colourful chooks, chickens and roosters.
“We will have a stall and some crafty demonstrations on the ground floor of the main pavilion at the Show, as well.”
The tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5. The second prize is a basket of ‘Chook Goodies’ and the third prize is a basket of miscellaneous goodies.
The raffle will be drawn at 4pm on Sunday at the Show.
“So come along and find us at the Show and make sure you grab some tickets to go into the draw to win one our our beautiful prizes,” Lorraine said.
