Legendary Melbourne duo bound for Eudlo Hall

Clare Moore and Dave Graney bring their new album, Laburnum of the Mind, to the Eudlo Hall on Saturday, August 1.

EUDLO Hall will welcome one of Australia’s most enduring musical partnerships when Dave Graney and Clare Moore bring their new album, Laburnum of the Mind, to the hinterland on Saturday, August 1.

Graney, remembered by many as the charismatic frontman of Dave Graney and the Coral Snakes, and Moore have been making music together for decades, building a catalogue that spans more than 40 albums.

They will perform at Eudlo as Dave Graney and the mistLY, joined by longtime band members Stu Thomas on bass and vocals and Stuart Perera on guitar and vocals.

Thomas has played with the group since 2004, while Perera has been part of the line-up since 1998.

The concert will launch Laburnum of the Mind, a rock album featuring grooves, upbeat tempos, drums, guitars, bass and vocals, including the single Hits Are The Worst.

The band describes itself as “a group with an engine room and a powder room”.

Along with songs from the new record, the musicians will delve into the extensive catalogue Graney and Moore have helped write, perform and produce throughout their long careers.

“They’re from Melbourne but they’re not like those other Melbourne bands and they’re a rock band but not like those other rock bands,” the album notes declare.

Graney and Moore usually bring their local shows to the Imperial Hotel at Eumundi, where tickets regularly sell out. Their appearance at Eudlo gives hinterland music lovers a rare opportunity to see the acclaimed performers in the intimate setting of the historic community hall.

Eudlo Hall has hosted a strong line-up of local, national and international touring artists over the years.

Hot food and cakes will be available on the night, along with a licensed bar.

Doors open at 6.30pm, with the show beginning at 7pm.
