ECOllaboration team chips in at BushCare Bee

Petrie Creek Bushcare News with Norm Morwood

Pictured are members of the ECOllaboration Trainee team assisting at our BushCare Bee at Gulung Gung Nambour in March. They were assisting with our conversion of the site from weeds to local native forest, creating creekside habitat for native animals. They were a great help to the volunteer team and on the day weeded for and planted the 50 Lomandras in the pictured site. That allowed the rest of us to continue with the control of weeds through the site.

If you’d like to volunteer with us in these sorts of habitat improving BushCare activities, the next opportunities at our sites are:-

• Namba Creek on Saturday 18 April starting at 8am. Access is through the main gate of the Model Rail Park off Florence St Nambour.

• Gulung Gung on Wednesday 22 April starting at 8am.  Easiest access is from the rear carpark at Aldi, by walking down the rough track around the north side of the carpark, across the low level bridge, or walk across from Quota Park.

To join in the action, you’ll need to come in “long everything” bush protective clothing including boots/shoes and a hat. All tools required will be provided. Let’s know you’re planning to come by email to Norm or just turn up on the day.
