International artisan food organisation’s Noosa branch honours Sunshine Coast farmer this weekend

The International Slow Food Movement Noosa Branch holds its Annual General Meeting and Brunch this Saturday, 25 October, celebrating the region’s producers and the shared values of Good, Clean, and Fair Food.

The event brings together members of Slow Food Noosa, GourMay Mary Valley 2026, and local producers at the iconic Fairhill Gardens country estate.

Guests will enjoy a locally inspired brunch in Fairhill’s beautiful botanical setting, featuring fresh fruit, compotes, bacon and egg slices, scones with jam, and Fairhill’s signature clotted cream, coffee and chai.

A highlight of the morning will be the presentation of the Slow Food Snail of Approval Award for Primary Production to Sunshine Coast farmer Ed Wright of Bamboo Park Farm, recognising his exceptional work as an artisan farmer. Less than 5% of Australia’s pigs are raised free range; Ed’s pasture-raised pigs enjoy life on a regenerative, spray-free, antibiotic-free Sunshine Coast farm, resulting in low-cortisol, tender, healthy pork that embodies the principles of sustainable and ethical farming. Ed’s prime pasture-raised pork is sold through local farm shops, organic food companies, the finest local cafes and restaurants.

The gathering will also feature Speaker and fellow Snail of Approval producer John Tidy, celebrated for his sustainably grown avocados.

Tickets are $30 per person and include brunch and beverages.

Bookings are essential via Humanitix.
