Biggest crowd yet for Queensland Garden Show

A record-breaking 38,000 gardening enthusiasts descended on the Nambour Showgrounds over the July 11-13 weekend for the 41st Queensland Garden Show, marking the event’s most successful year.

The Show featured its largest-ever lineup of exhibitors, speakers and hands-on demonstrations, with more than 360 stalls, 100 talks, and 60,000 plants on sale each day.

Event manager Marion Beazley said the response was overwhelming. “Every corner of the Show was buzzing – from passionate home gardeners seeking advice, to families enjoying free kids’ activities or a wander through the Kitchen Garden,” she said. “It’s always a beautiful reminder of how gardening brings people together.”

Gardening Australia’s Costa Georgiadis was a crowd favourite once again, sharing his signature energy and down-to-earth wisdom.

“What I love most is the way this event brings all generations together. You’ve got children getting their hands dirty, learning where their food comes from and falling in love with the natural world - right alongside their parents and grandparents. Observing, and connecting with plants and nature builds a love and desire to protect their world.

For the first time, the Queensland Minister for Tourism attended the event, recognising its status as an iconic annual drawcard. Ms Beazley said the Show had contributed more than $200 million to the local economy since its inception.
