Experience Cuban culture as Havana Nights comes to Palmwoods

Palmwoods Memorial Hall will come alive with Latin music, dance and colour when Havana Nights comes to town on Saturday, May 23.

The community event, hosted by the Palmwoods Community and Business Association, will celebrate Cuban culture with a family-friendly evening of music, dancing, food and community spirit.

Local band Canta la Tumba will bring its lively blend of Latin music, folk, jazz and rhythm to the hall, creating a tropical party atmosphere in the heart of Palmwoods.

Between band sets, the Cuban Dance Company will lead the way with dance demonstrations and encouragement for guests to join in, or simply enjoy watching the dancers.

Organisers said the event was about celebrating life, community and the rich culture of Cuba.

“There’s nothing like a good dance party to feel truly alive,” said Sarah Wright from Homegrown Cafe. “Guests are encouraged to get into the mood with brightly coloured, comfortable clothing and a fedora hat.”

Food stalls, refreshments and a cash bar will be available on the night.

• Havana Nights will be held at Palmwoods Memorial Hall on Saturday, May 23, from 5.30pm–8.30pm.  Tickets are available via events.humanitix.com/havana-night.
