Local business turns printing into community support with give-back program

A locally owned business in the heart of Nambour is showing that printing can do more than just put ink on paper — it can make a real difference in the lives of locals.

INK & Cartridge World Nambour, located at 36 Howard Street (next to Everyday Food Outlet), has launched its Cartridge Community Give-Back Program, a new initiative aimed at supporting local charities and reducing waste.

From now until the end of October, INK will donate funds to Everyday Food Outlet Nambour for every cartridge purchased or recycled in-store. After that, a different local charity will be supported each month as part of the ongoing campaign.

“This is about using what we do every day to give back to the people who make this town what it is,” said Kylie Limpus, owner of INK and member and Treasurer, of the Nambour Chamber of Commerce.

“Supporting local charities and groups isn’t just something we do — it’s who we are.”

The business has become well-known for its environmental commitment, including cartridge recycling and donating broken printers to a local Smash Room. These printers are dismantled and sorted for higher-efficiency recycling, keeping more waste out of landfill.

Beyond recycling, INK regularly supports nonprofits, schools, and community organisations with gift vouchers, free ink, and complimentary printing services. They’re also proud sponsors of the 2025 Rangebow Festival, further reinforcing their role as a community-first business.

INK also works closely with APM Employment Services, providing inclusive job opportunities. Team member Sue, who joined through APM, is now a valued part of the INK team.

“Sue has been a fantastic addition to our staff,” Kylie said. “She’s hardworking, friendly, and a great reminder of what inclusive employment can bring to a business.”

Alongside their community work, INK continues to deliver what customers come in for — fast printer repairs (usually within 48hrs), credit for unrepairable machines, expert advice, and products sourced with care.

“We do things the big chains can’t. We know our customers by name, we find hard-to-source products, and we’re always here with a smile and a solution,” Kylie added.

INK & Cartridge World also proudly sponsors the Normanton House Playgroup at Nambour Christian College.

Locals are encouraged to drop off used cartridges, purchase ink, or simply pop in for a chat and a look around. Every little action helps support the bigger picture.
