Rights, voices, and choices come alive at the Loud and Clear Qld All Abilities Conference and Concert

This October 9-10, Loud and Clear QLD (LnC QLD) is bringing two incredible days of energy, empowerment, and celebration to our

community. The 2025 Loud and Clear Conference and All-Abilities Concert will take over the Sunshine Coast on October 9–10, and it promises to be one of the year’s most uplifting and unmissable events.

For more than a decade, Loud and Clear QLD has been a driving force for change. As a self-advocacy group led by people with intellectual disability and proudly supported by Parent to Parent (P2P) QLD, they’ve been breaking down barriers, opening doors, and making sure every voice is heard.

“Their impact goes far beyond the Sunshine Coast, with leaders recognised nationally through their work with Inclusion Australia’s Our Voice Committee—the peak body fighting for the rights of people with intellectual disability across the country,” said P2P CEO, Jodi Wolthers.

“At its heart, advocacy is about power, the power to be seen, heard, and included. For people with disability, it’s about having the tools, opportunities, and confidence to make their own choices and challenge unfair systems.”

For Payge, a proud member of the Loud and Clear Qld community, the upcoming 10-year-anniversary conference and concert is more than just a celebration.

“Celebrating 10 years of Loud and Clear. Wow. I still can’t believe it has been 10 years! It feels really good, because we have achieved so much throughout those years and what Loud and Clear stands for,” she said.

This year’s theme, “Rights, Voices, and Choices,” is especially close to her heart.

“To me, Rights, Voices and Choices is having the ability to have my voice heard when I speak up and people listen to what I have to say, because I have a right to have my choices heard.”

Loud and Clear Qld Coordinator, Alissa O’Connor, says “This year’s Conference and Concert celebrates true self-advocacy through education and empowerment. It showcases to the community that people with a disability deserve to have their rights respected and protected, the voices heard and have the ability to have a say in decisions that affect their lives”.

The 2025 program is bursting with thought-provoking sessions, powerful personal stories, and plenty of moments to connect,

reflect, and celebrate. Attendees can look forward to hearing from disability advocates such as MC Wheels (Nathan Tessman), Dr Michelle Browning, community leaders Cr Tim Burns and Marty Hunt MP, a live Q&A panel, hands-on workshops and capped off with an all abilities concert.

This epic night of music and connection will feature crowd favourites Marshall Hamburger (2025 Australian Idol winner), MC Wheels, and the Redcliffe Peninsula Drum Circle, and Jammalong. This isn’t just a conference; it’s Queensland’s only all-abilities event created by people with intellectual disability, for people of all abilities.

Tickets include morning tea and lunch, making it a full experience of inspiration, community, and fun. Tickets are available now through Humanitix.

The events will be held at the Meridan Community Church Centre, 70 Springs Drive, Sunshine Coast
