Festival of Small Halls returns to Eudlo

There is a unique alchemy that occurs when world-class music meets the weathered timber of a community hall. On Sunday, 24th May, that magic returns to the Sunshine Coast hinterland as the Festival of Small Halls rolls into Eudlo.

Born in the rural landscapes of Prince Edward Island, Canada, this festival was built on a simple, profound idea: that the world’s best folk and contemporary music shouldn’t be reserved for stadium lights and city slickers. It belongs in the intimate, wood-panelled spaces that have served as the heartbeat of regional towns for generations. Since its first Australian tour in 2014, Eudlo Hall has been a cornerstone of this movement, its acoustics and heritage-listed charm acting as a siren song for international and homegrown talent alike.

This year’s event is particularly poignant.

While we welcome the foot-stomping energy of the Barleyshakes Duo and the storytelling mastery of Canada’s Old Man Luedecke, the afternoon holds a momentous local milestone. We are fortunate to have world-acclaimed cellist and Eudlo local, Louise King, opening the show. In a testament to her unwavering support for grassroots culture, this performance marks Louise’s 400th appearance within the very walls of the Eudlo Hall.

By filling these seats, we do more than enjoy a concert; we buoy the spirits of our historic halls, ensuring these charming venues remain vibrant stages rather than museum pieces.

Doors open at 3.30pm. Join us for an afternoon where world-class artistry meets the warmth of home. Tickets available via www.eudlohall.org.au or via www.festivalofsmallhalls.com.

World-acclaimed cellist and Eudlo local, Louise King will open the show.
