Flaxton Gardens to host new art and design fair

A celebration of local creativity will come to the hinterland next month when Flaxton Gardens hosts the inaugural Sunshine Coast Art & Design Fair.

Running Saturday November 22 (9am–7pm) and Sunday November 23 (9am–3pm), the free event will showcase the region’s finest artists, designers and makers alongside fine food, wine and live music.

Presented by Queensland Artisan Festivals and Events under the banner of MADE Sunshine Coast, the fair will transform the popular venue into a vibrant marketplace. Each exhibitor will have their own ArtSpace to display and sell work across visual arts, sculpture, ceramics, jewellery, textiles and more, with several also offering talks and live demonstrations.

Spokesperson Nicole Hilton said the fair was designed to highlight the Sunshine Coast’s creative depth. “Flaxton Gardens will come alive, showcasing its premises as a premier ArtSpace featuring creatives, artists, fine food, wine and music,” she said.

Flaxton Gardens’ restaurant will serve breakfast and lunch daily, with a curated evening menu on the Saturday night — ideal for those who want to “sip and shop” while taking in the sweeping views of the hinterland.
