$24,768 grant a huge win for Mapleton State School
Mapleton State School students will benefit from a $24,768 Gambling Community Benefit Fund grant, with new equipment set to support learning, play and activities across the school.
Mapleton State School Parents and Citizens Association president Elissa Bartholomew said the funding was a huge win for the school community.
“The funding will allow us to purchase new interactive televisions, plus update our laptops and iPads, which will make a real difference to our students and the opportunities available to them at school,” Mrs Bartholomew said.
“It’s fantastic to have this support and we’re looking forward to getting the equipment in place so our students and teachers can start making the most of it before the end of the school year.”
Member for Nicklin Marty Hunt MP said it was great to see Gambling Community Benefit Fund grants continuing to flow into the Nicklin electorate and support local schools and community organisations.
“Mapleton State School is an important part of the local community, and it’s fantastic to see this funding delivering something tangible for students, teachers and families,” Mr Hunt said.
“The Gambling Community Benefit Fund provides a great opportunity for community organisations to secure funding for projects that make a real difference on the ground.
“I’m pleased to see another $24,768 coming into the Nicklin electorate and look forward to seeing the students at Mapleton State School enjoying the new equipment.”
In the same round, the Australasian Country Music Associcaiotn in Yandina received $35,000 to install air conditioning, Cooroy Community Bowls Club received $35,000 for facility upgrades, and Nambour Heights Bowls Club received $7,920 for upgrades to their clubhouse.
The Gambling Community Benefit Fund is Queensland’s largest one-off community grants program and distributes approximately $60 million each year to not-for-profit community groups. A new online grants system is due to be rolled out before the next round opens.
