There was a wonderful buzz of chatter and nostalgia at the Nambour Cinema & Events Centre on October 21, as around 230 local residents gathered for a special community celebration.
The crowd came together for the annual Seniors Movie Screening, hosted by Member for Nicklin Marty Hunt to celebrate Queensland Seniors Month. This year, attendees over the age of 60 were treated to a free, exclusive screening of the classic period drama Sense & Sensibility.
The morning proved to be a major success, offering local seniors a chance to escape to the movies, catch up with old friends, and form new connections within the community.
Mr Hunt expressed his delight at the strong turnout and the opportunity to give back to the region’s older generation.
"I am always pleased to help bring our local seniors together," Mr Hunt said. "This event is just a small way to say thank you and celebrate the incredibly important contribution they continue to make to our Nicklin community."
The successful event was made possible through the support of local sponsors, including the Nambour RSL Club, Property Lane Realty, Sundale Ltd, and Comlink Australia.
