Who’s Who to put Nambour businesses and community in the spotlight
A NEW-look Nambour and Hinterland business and community directory will aim to capture the people, organisations and enterprises helping drive the region’s growing confidence.
Sunshine Valley Gazette’s Tanya Outridge unveiled plans for the new Who’s Who – Nambour & Hinterland Business and Community Directory at the Nambour Chamber of Commerce breakfast on September 3.
The publication will replace the Gazette’s previous Nambour and Hinterland Business Directory with a larger, redesigned magazine-style format featuring local business owners, community groups and organisations.
Mrs Outridge said the change reflected the transformation taking place across Nambour.
“This town, it’s on the up, it’s on the go, and there is so much confidence now,” she said.
“That’s just embodied by the sheer volume of business people in the room here who are investing in the town, who are invigorating and refreshing the town with their businesses, with what they’re doing.”
The new publication will remain strongly editorial-based, telling the stories behind local businesses rather than simply providing display ad listings.
It will also include new Q&A-style profiles, display advertising options and opportunities for not-for-profit and community organisations to participate.
Mrs Outridge said highlighting the people behind local organisations would be central to the magazine. “We’d love to see your faces in it, your faces and your story,” she said. “That’s what makes your business, that’s what people engage with in your business.”
The directory is scheduled to go to print in late January and be distributed from about mid-February, remaining in circulation for 12 months.
Mrs Outridge said the goal was to produce a publication reflecting where Nambour was heading.
“This book needs to represent where Nambour is and where it’s going,” she said. “It’s the least that Nambour deserves.”
