Everyday hub brings low-cost groceries and community support under one roof

The Everyday Foundation will open the doors to its new Currie Street location in Nambour on Thursday, September 10, giving the whole community a place to shop for affordable groceries, no matter their situation.

Everyone is invited to the Grand Opening & can enjoy a sausage sizzle from 10am as well as half-price barista-made coffee on Thursday & Friday.

General Manager Karen Gullo said the multi-million-dollar facility couldn’t come at a better time as cost-of-living pressures continue to hit hard across the Sunshine Coast.

The building will house all The Everyday Foundation’s programs including its low-cost food outlet, which is open to everyone. The Outlet stocks a wide variety of products including pantry staples, meat, toiletries and cleaning products, snacks, freezer goods, milk and bread. “Whether you’re stretching a pension, feeding a young family, or just want to save some money off your weekly shop, our store is open to everyone,” Ms Gullo said. “And once you’ve done your shopping, you can grab a coffee and a treat at Bean, our on-site café. Every dollar spent in store goes back into our food relief programs, so it’s good for your wallet and your community.”

The building will also house the Foundation’s meal-support kitchen, Emergency Relief program, and Christmas hamper initiative.

The opening comes on the back of the Zaleta Love Food, Give Food Long Lunch, The Everyday Foundation’s signature fundraising event, which raised an incredible $320,000 in August to support its food relief efforts.

Nicklin MP Marty Hunt, who will help open the facility, said it was a fantastic outcome for both Nambour and the wider Sunshine Coast.

“With a $1 million investment from the Crisafulli Government, The Everyday Foundation has been able to establish this incredible new hub, bringing affordable groceries and vital community support together under one roof and I can’t wait for it to open for the benefit of local families,” Mr Hunt said. “The entire team at The Everyday Foundation do an extraordinary job for our community, and I’m looking forward to helping open the doors to this wonderful new facility in the heart of Nambour.”
