Ray White Nambour Rodeo returns May 9: bigger and better in 2026

The excitement, energy and tradition of the Ray White Nambour Rodeo are set to return to the Sunshine Coast on Saturday, 9 May 2026. The event promises a full day of family-friendly entertainment, elite rodeo action and strong community support.

With gates opening at 10:30am for an 11am start, the day builds toward the Main Event at 5pm, delivering a thrilling afternoon and evening of professional rodeo competition alongside activities.

This year’s program features a packed lineup of classic rodeo favourites including: bull ride; bareback ride; rope & tie; steer wrestling; team roping; barrel racing; and breakaway roping.

Off the arena, families can enjoy a variety of entertainment including a rock-climbing wall, face painting, live entertainment, plus a lively rodeo after-party at the Commercial Hotel to round out the evening.

Food vendors, drinks and a fully licensed bar will be operating throughout the day, ensuring visitors can relax and enjoy the full rodeo experience.

Supporting local community organisations
The Ray White Nambour Rodeo continues to play an important role in supporting local community groups. In 2026, the event is proud to support organisations including Help Us

Spread Kindness, a dedicated group of local mums from Yandina and North Arm who champion youth wellbeing initiatives including participation in Do It For Dolly Day, promoting kindness and anti-bullying awareness across the region.

The Men’s Shed, whose volunteers will be assisting with parking on the day. Parking will be available for $5 per vehicle, with all proceeds helping support their valuable work in the community.

Proudly backed by Ray White Nambour
Matt O’Grady, owner of Ray White Nambour, said being involved with the rodeo was something the team was incredibly proud of.

“We feel extremely lucky to be associated with one of the biggest and most loved events on the Sunshine Coast. The Ray White Nambour Rodeo brings the community together in a way that very few events can, and it’s fantastic to see families, visitors and local organisations all benefiting from such a great day.”

Free shuttle bus
A free shuttle bus service will operate between the Nambour Train Station and the rodeo grounds for the duration of the event. Running in conjunction with the Train timetables throughout the day and evening, the shuttle allows visitors to take advantage of convenient rail travel, including Queensland’s 50c fares.
