Neighbours Aid launches “2‑hour week” push to keep op‑shops open
Neighbours Aid has launched a new volunteer drive with a simple message: “It only takes two hours a week to make a difference!” Administrator Ange Jones says the appeal is timely, with some of the charity’s op‑shops facing potential closures on certain days due to a shortage of volunteers.
“We’re currently experiencing a volunteer shortage, which means some of our op shops risk closing their doors on certain days,” Ms Jones explained. “That’s why we’re inviting locals to join our team by giving just two hours a week.”
To show appreciation, volunteers who complete 20+ hours of service by the end of September will receive a Neighbours Aid Goodies Pack.
Jones hopes the campaign will not only bring more helpers through the doors but also remind the community that “you don’t have to have a lot of time to give; anything is better than nothing!”
