Bloomhill opens new and larger community Op Shop in Nambour
Bloomhill Cancer Care has announced the grand opening of its newly relocated and expanded Op Shop situated at 2/17-19 Mitchell Street.
Mervat Quirke, General Manager of Bloomhill said the move from its previous site on Hospital Road marks an exciting new chapter for the organisation which blends affordability, sustainability and community spirit into a larger, more vibrant retail space.
“Covering a generous 408 square metres with ample parking, the new location features a front retail shop and a spacious warehouse showroom which will stock an extensive and diverse range of items.
“Over the years we’ve built a great reputation across the Nambour region for our incredible range of clothing and shoes to small and large furniture, vintage treasures, appliances such as fridges and TVs (fully tested and tagged), bric-a-brac as well as fine and costume jewellery, collectables, and even old coins.
“This new retail centre isn’t just about shopping, it’s about building community. We want this space to be welcoming and accessible, a place where locals and visitors alike can find affordable items while knowing their purchases are making a meaningful difference to support Bloomhill’s clients,” Mervat said.
Mervat said the store will be staffed by three dedicated team members and supported by around 10 volunteers every week who all play a critical role in Bloomhill’s mission.
“We have a great team but we are always looking for passionate volunteers of all ages, especially those who want to gain valuable retail experience while giving back and helping to sustain vital services for those touched by cancer.
“80% of proceeds from Bloomhill’s network of nine Sunshine Coast Op Shops go directly to supporting cancer clients and their families through the Bloomhill Wellness Centre so when you shop or donate at Bloomhill, you’re helping reduce landfill while supporting life-changing cancer care right here on the Coast,” Mervat added.
The Nambour Op Shop is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 4.00pm and Saturday from 9.00am to 2.00pm.
