Palmwoods school shines in student challenge

Palmwoods State School Year 5 students Calvin Plater and Eden Keeffe have been recognised for their winning video entries as part of promoting the 120th Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show, which runs 12-14 June 2026.

Show Manager Mark Paddenburg presented the 240 free tickets at the school assembly on Friday 22 May, celebrating the schools leadership and the students’ creative abilities. The two videos have already had over 1,700 views on the show’s FaceBook Page.

“As part of our 120th show anniversary we wanted to see the magic of the show through the eyes of our local primary school students,” Mr Paddenburg said.

“Calvin and Eden certainly delivered.” (see video links below)

“We know how busy teachers are and the Show Society would like to thank Mrs Kirsty Griffiths, Technologies and Arts Teacher, Palmwoods State School for inspiring her students to excel through action oriented learning,” he said.

“We can't wait to see you at the Show.”

Mrs Griffiths said the school values opportunities that connect students with their local community and provide an authentic audience for their work. Calvin and Eden‘s videos will also be featured on the big screen as part of the School’s on Show Program. Palmwoods State School thanked show organisers for this generous and timely video challenge opportunity.
