Thanks coach: Celebrating dedication and service at Range gym
The Range Community Gym and Fitness Centre in Mapleton is celebrating the dedication of two of its long-serving gym instructors. Paul Parker, who has been with the gym for15 years, and Tina McLaren, who has reached her 10-year milestone, are both integral to the success and spirit of the facility.
Since August 2001, The Range Community Gym & Fitness Centre has been committed to providing high-quality fitness services to locals. The gym reinvests all revenue back into the facility and its programs, ensuring that the focus remains on the health and well-being members. “It’s instructors like Paul and Tina who embody the gym’s values, building lasting relationships with members and helping to foster an environment of health, wellness, and inclusivity,” said Gym President Chaffey Backhouse.
A Vital Role in Community Wellness
Chaffey said Paul and Tina represented the heart and soul of the gym. “Their long-standing service is a testament to their passion for fitness and their deep connection to the Blackall Range community. In an era when personal fitness and wellness have never been more important, their contributions to the community are more valuable than ever.”
Vice President Andrea Campbell said the gym’s members continued to thrive thanks to the dedication and expertise of Paul and Tina. “Their commitment to the physical and mental well-being of others ensures that The Range Community Gym & Fitness Centre will remain a pillar of health and vitality for years to come.”

Paul Parker has been leading fitness classes, providing personal training, and motivating members for 15 years. His journey with the gym began in its early days, and he has played an instrumental role in shaping the gym’s offerings, helping countless members achieve their fitness goals along the way.
Tina McLaren: A Decade of Dedication
Tina McLaren, marking her 10th year with the gym, is celebrated for her unwavering commitment to the fitness and well-being of the local community. Over the last decade, Tina has become a familiar face to many, offering expertise in various fitness disciplines, from group fitness classes to personalized training sessions.
The celebratory morning tea will be held 11am on Friday, July 25 at the gym under the Bowls Club and is expected to draw around 100 current and former members.
