Nambour gallery opens its doors for Open Studios weekend

Ali Atkinson will open Rogues Gallery in Queen St, Nambour, from 10am to 4pm on July 25 and 26 as part of Open Studios Sunshine Coast’s hinterland weekend.

Art lovers will have a chance to step inside one of Nambour’s creative spaces when Ali Atkinson opens Rogues Gallery in Queen Street as part of Open Studios Sunshine Coast.

The gallery, at 12 Queen St, Nambour, will be open from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26, during the hinterland weekend of the annual arts trail.

Open Studios Sunshine Coast runs from July 17 to 26 and invites visitors to discover local artists, galleries, workshops and exhibitions across the region.

For Ali, who works across painting, drawing, textiles, printing, ceramics and design, the weekend is a chance to make art more accessible and bring people into a space where creativity feels welcoming rather than intimidating.

“Open Studios is such a lovely way for people to connect with the artists and makers in their own community,” Ali said. “It gives people permission to wander in, ask questions, see the work up close and understand a little more about the process behind it.”

Rogues Gallery features Ali’s fine art prints, ceramics and design pieces, with a focus on mark-making, pattern and bold colour. Her work is local, handmade and designed to bring warmth and character into people’s homes.

Ali said opening the gallery during the hinterland weekend was also a chance to encourage more people into Nambour and highlight the town’s growing creative energy.

“There is so much happening in Nambour and I love being part of that,” she said.

“Queen Street has its own personality, and I hope people make a weekend of it, come for the art trail, visit the gallery, have a coffee, and spend some time discovering what the town has to offer.”

Visitors are welcome to drop in between 10am and 4pm on both days.
