Samhain 2025 – A celebration of music, art and film at the Old Ambo

Now in its fifth year, Samhain returns to the Sunshine Coast with a bold program of live music, art, and film. Over three days, The Old Ambulance Station in Nambour will be transformed into a hub of experimental performance, immersive installations, and cinema across three unique spaces.

On Thursday October 30, the Gallery opens the festival with an immersive night of live performance and visual art with artists Mick Turner, Heinz Riegler, Naomi Blacklock and Brinks Helm.

On Friday October 31 Our Carlson appears with Kitchen’s Floor, Deafcult and Mo Shak (Moscos).

Saturday November sees Ramp Space cinema host Film Safari Ghana: Redux, A Grand Mockery – Luminous Super 8 feature filmed in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, and winner of Best Feature at SXSW Sydney, as well as All You Need Is Death, the Australian premiere of Paul Duane’s Irish folk horror, starring Olwen Fouéré.

At the closing party on Saturday November 1, Borg DJ will be spinning an eclectic vinyl set to bring the festival to a close.

Mick Turner has carved a distinctive solo career with releases on Chicago label Drag City and collaborations spanning Nick Cave, PJ Harvey, Cat Power, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, Courtney Barnett and more.
