Rare and beautiful blooms help raise money for Cittamani Hospice Services

The Maroochydore Orchid Society held an open orchid show on Friday and Saturday the 8th and 9th of August, with judging of all the benched plants taking place on the prior Thursday.

320 plants plus were benched from the Maroochydore Society and other sister regional Societies, which made a lovely display and across a wide range of genres.

Despite some rain, over 600 members of the community turned out to look at the beautiful blooms.

For many years, Mayor Rosana Natoli has been the Patron of Maroochydore Orchid Society. This year society President, Mrs Kathy Howatson, and Mayor Natoli also introduced a second Patron of the Maroochydore Orchid Society.

Mr Peter Henssler OAM, a long time member, past President, and long time Management Committee member has now become the club's Patron.

For orchid lovers, the Nambour Orchid Society’s 2025 Spring orchid Expo is coming up on the 6th and 7th of September, at Venue 114 Sportsmans Parade, Bokarina.

The Expo celebrates 70 years of commitment to supporting new and experienced growers alike, and proudly raising funds for Cittamani Hospice Services.
