Disability expo connects local families with service providers

The Sunshine Coast Disability Expo is returning to the region, bringing together a diverse range of disability providers, supports, and community services under one roof. This event is designed to make navigating disability support easier, clearer, and more accessible for individuals, families, and carers across the Sunshine Coast.

“At the Disability Events Community (DEC), our mission is to fill the knowledge gaps that many regional and outer-metro communities face,” said Community Engagement Specialist, Micharla Russell.

“Too often, people miss out on essential supports simply because they don’t know what’s available, where to start, or who to talk to. This expo tackles that problem head-on by bringing the information directly to the people who need it most.”

Many people struggle to understand the disability support system or access appropriate services and as a result, families and carers often feel isolated or unsure of their options.

“Providers in the region want to connect more deeply with community members, and this expo creates a space for face-to-face conversations, real answers, and practical guidance,” she explained.

“With service providers spanning allied health, support coordination, assistive technology, community programs, early childhood supports, mental health, transport, and more, the event is built to deliver clarity, connection, and confidence for attendees.”

About DEC
The Disability Events Community is not a provider, it is an independent events organisation. This means their expos remain neutral, community-focused, and free from competing service interests.

Their aim is simple: ensure every person, regardless of where they live, has access to clear, trustworthy disability information.
