‘The Ladies’ take centre stage at Montville classical event

On October 3 at 3pm, Montville’s Lucas Parklands will be presenting a concert with a difference.

Entitled ‘The Ladies’, the afternoon will feature music performed by high achieving women, including 2 local musicians.

“This will be a slightly different style of presentation for us, and we are excited to have artists of this calibre performing at Lucas Parklands,” said venue owner, and concert organiser, Ian Lucas.

“One major work being presented on the afternoon is Camille Saint-Saëns ‘The Carnival of the Animals’, with pianists Eugenie Tamplon from Witta and Berta Brozgul from Melbourne on two pianos,” Mr Lucas said.

“Regular guests of Lucas Parklands will be familiar with Berta’s extraordinary talent, and to add to the performance will be narration by Maleny’s own Margaret Taylor, OAM.”

A student of another Lucas Parklands favourite pianist Konstantin Shamray, Ewan Odenthall, will be traveling from Melbourne to perform on the afternoon.

“Chopin’s piano concerto No. 1 will be played on two pianos, by Ewan and Berta, and promises to be a treat for our guests,” he said.

Concert goers will also hear Pas de Deux by Tchaikovsky, and Carnival by Schumann.

Prior to the concert, guests will enjoy music on the deck by local vocalist, Imogen Grace.
