The Jazz Sessions presents Echoes of Cirque: Gypsy Jazz meets Parisian swing at The Presynct

The Jazz Sessions returns on Thursday 16 April 2026 with a vibrant night of Gypsy Jazz, presenting Brisbane-based quartet Echoes of Cirque live at The Presynct.

Born out of the magic of the Woodford Folk Festival, Echoes of Cirque emerged from the Cirque Hot Club program in 2023, uniting four accomplished musicians with a shared passion for jazz manouche. Drawing inspiration from the timeless swing of Django Reinhardt and the romance of 1930s Paris, the group blends traditional Gypsy Jazz with a fresh, contemporary edge influenced by today’s European scene.

Featuring Rory Dollard (guitar), Rodrigo Santiago (guitar), Lachlan Alexander (clarinet), and Benja King (double bass), Echoes of Cirque deliver high-energy performances rich in virtuosity, rhythmic drive, and musical interplay. Their repertoire spans Django classics, early jazz standards, bebop-inspired tunes, and original compositions.

After captivating audiences with three standout performances on the Parlour Stage at Woodford Folk Festival 2024, the quartet has just released their debut album. Their live shows capture both the warmth of tradition and the excitement of innovation, positioning Echoes of Cirque as one of Australia’s most exciting emerging voices in Gypsy Jazz

Set in the intimate upstairs space at The Presynct, this edition of The Jazz Sessions promises an evening of infectious swing, dazzling musicianship, and old-world charm.
