It’s Show time: World class artists Support  Art competition

The Show is set to become a hub of artistic brilliance this weekend, with world-class artists lending their support to its highly anticipated art competition. Notable talents backing the event include Tina Cooper, an International hot glass artist and designer, and Marcel Desbiens, an Internationally acclaimed award-winning painter.

This year’s art competition offers an expanded prize pool that includes cash rewards, luxury accommodation, scholarships to the Bienarte Art School, and thousands of dollars in framing products and services. The range of artistic submissions – spanning photography, watercolours, oil paintings, pencil drawings, ceramics, sculpture, handicraft, wearable art, and more – is sure to captivate attendees and showcase the talent of our creative community.

Tina Cooper is kindly donating a $500 cash prize to the winner of the competition’s “Best in Show”. Marcel Desbiens will be awarding a $500 Bienarte art scholarship to the artist whose entry demonstrates the most promise. In addition to these accolades, attendees will play an active role in the judging by participating in the “People’s Choice Award”. This will reward both the voter and the winning artist.

For art enthusiasts, the Gallery of Visual Arts in the upstairs pavilion at the Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show is the place to be from June 13 to June 15, 2025. Attendees are encouraged to immerse themselves in the artistic showcase and enjoy the excitement of being part of an event where their vote matters.

The involvement of high-calibre artists underscores the artistic richness of the Sunshine Coast. Cooper’s Glass Gallery is a must-visit in Montville, while Desbiens operates galleries in Landsborough and Albion.

Be sure to visit the Gallery of Visual Arts this weekend at the Sunshine Coast Show to feast your eyes on an incredible exhibition.

The Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show will be held at the Nambour Showgrounds from 13-15 June. https://sunshinecoastshow.com.au/tickets/
