Japanese cuisine now on the menu at the Nambour Town Square Markets
Nambour’s Town Square Markets, held at in the Nambour CBD every Thursday morning have have welcomed a number of new stall holders in recent weeks.
Among the offerings at the markets are fresh local produce and plants, leather goods, wooden and knitted items, handmade clothing, dog treats, jewellery, clothes, and bric a brac.
The Nambour Chamber of Commerce runs a BBQ, where you can buy bacon and egg rolls and sausages in bread, and from next week, market visitors will be able to buy fresh, authentic Japanese food.
Tunagu Japanese Food is a popular food stall run by Saki Miyamoto, who takes her delicious Japanese cuisine to markets around Brisbane.
“We serve homemade onigiri, udon, and matcha drinks using simple and healthy ingredients,” Saki said. “Our goal is to share authentic Japanese flavors and culture with the local community.”
Visitors to the markets will also find vegan offerings such as umeboshi (pickled plum), wakame (seaweed rice ball), and avocado amd shio kombu.
There will also be karaage don, gyodon, oyako don, wagyu arepa burgers, match latte and strawberry smoothies.
There is plenty of seating around the Town Square, under the trees, so call in and see Saki, and make it a lunch time treat. It’s also a great opportunity to pick up unique Christmas gifts, handmade with love.
