Bank’s ‘Giving Back to Woombye’ night comes to big screen

Woombye’s community-owned bank will celebrate local generosity at its annual “Giving Back to Woombye” night at Nambour Cinema and Events Centre on November 6. 

The event will spotlight this year’s grant, sponsorship and scholarship recipients and outline plans for 2026.

Branch manager Hayley Saunders said the evening was “about saying thank you and showing people the impact their community bank is having close to home”. 

“It’s a celebration of community – neighbours backing neighbours – and we’d love locals to join us,” Ms Saunders said.

As part of the program, guests will see a special screening of the new film Kangaroo. Ms Saunders said the mix of recognition and a shared movie experience made the night “a warm way to bring everyone together”.

The Community Bank Woombye team is inviting supporters, partners and residents to attend, with free tickets available on a first-in basis.
