Woombye lights up with annual Lantern Parade on December 4
Woombye’s beloved annual Lantern Parade is happening this Thursday, December 4 at 5.30pm at St Margaret’s Church in Blackall Street. Grab your family, friends, and your best Christmas cheer, and join in for a night full of magic and fun.
The event starts with the traditional Nativity Play and The Restoring Hope SingSpire choir singing at the St Margaret’s church, followed by the Lantern Parade, featuring the Woombye State School Choir who will be carolling as they go.
After the parade, festivities will move to the Community Bank Woombye for a sing-along to Christmas Carols, again with the sounds of the SingSpire Choir on the bank veranda.
Enjoy some delicious cake, and watch the lighting of the Christmas tree.
The event is a joint venture between Woombye Childcare and Kindergarten, St Margaret’s Anglican Church, the Community Bank Woombye and the WCBA.
The Lantern Parade is a wonderful celebration of Christmas, and the Woombye community. It is a night of lights, laughter, family fun and Christmas magic.
