School of Arts stalwarts step down from roles

Built in 1898, the Woombye School of Arts Hall has been at the heart of the Woombye community for 128 years. Its continual upkeep has not happened by chance. 

Dedicated groups of volunteer committee members over many years have managed its care and upkeep. For the past 11 years two of those members, Kerry Brown and Tom Hogan, have been at the helm of the committee, serving in a voluntary official capacity - Kerry as President and Tom as Treasurer. After their long and valued tenure, they have each decided to step down from their roles. 

At the Annual General Committee Meeting held Tuesday 28th July their retirement was accepted with much gratitude for the time and energy they have committed in helping preserve the School of Arts Hall, such an integral part of Woombye’s history.

Incoming President John Burge delivered a vote of thanks and presented Kerry and Tom gifts of appreciation. Milo Frawley has accepted his nomination as Vice-President, and Darryl Scurr the position of Treasurer. Owen Oxley will continue in his role as Secretary. 

The School of Arts hall committee meets on the last Tuesday of each month. Anyone interested in joining the committee in a voluntary capacity will be most welcome.
