Hands-on help for Nambour’s bushland
Petrie Creek BushCare News with Norm Morwood
Geoff and Glenn (pictured) were among 14 BushCare volunteers who gathered at the Namba Creek site beside the Model Rail Park in Nambour on Saturday 19 April.
The team removed weeds to give local native plantings a better chance to thrive and planted another 30 native species on the day. They also cleaned up flood debris and monitored water quality in the creek.
Upcoming BushCare mornings:
• Florabunda Pocket – Saturday 3 May, 8am. Meet near the back rugby oval at Woombye (via Laidlaw Rd and through the wire gates near the Gymnastics Hall). Finished by 10am – plenty of time to vote!
• Namba Creek – Saturday 17 May, 8am. Enter through the main gate of the Model Rail Park on Florence Street, Nambour.
Wear long sleeves, pants, closed shoes or boots, and a hat. Tools are supplied. Finish with a well-earned cuppa and chat.
