Celebrating 80 years of The Lind Theatre, a jewel in Nambour’s cultural crown

The original theatre.

This year marks a remarkable milestone for one of Nambour’s most enduring cultural institutions. The Lind Theatre, previously known as Lind Lane Theatre and NATS, is celebrating its 80th Anniversary with a Gala Event on Saturday, November 29th from 4pm at 16 Mitchell Street, Nambour.

From humble beginnings in December 1945, just after the end of World War II, the theatre has grown into a beloved hub for creativity, community and performance. For eight decades, generations of local actors, directors, stage crews and audience members have filled its walls with laughter, tears, applause and shared memories.

This Gala is not only a celebration of longevity but a tribute to the hundreds of volunteers and visionaries who have kept community theatre alive and thriving in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. People who have had anything to do with The Lind Theatre in past years are invited to be part of this special evening.

The event theme is Formal, Black and Gold, reflecting the elegance and timelessness of The Lind’s contribution to local culture.

• Registration is essential via trybooking.com/DGQNW. Don’t miss the chance to reconnect, reminisce, and raise a toast to 80 years of community spirit and theatrical magic. Display at Museum The Lind is also staging a display at the Nambour Museum for most of November.

It will feature memorabilia spanning the 80 years including a handwritten summary of the first meeting.
