Art, design and sculpture set to shine at Flaxton Gardens

FLAXTON Gardens is set to become a creative hub this spring, hosting two major arts events that will showcase the best of Sunshine Coast craftsmanship, creativity and cuisine.

The Made Sunshine Coast Art & Design Fair will take place on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 November, bringing together fine art, designer homewares, artisan gifts, and local food and beverage producers for a weekend of inspired shopping and celebration.

Marketing and Sales Manager Marlene Murray said the event would offer visitors a relaxed way to connect with local artisans while enjoying Flaxton Gardens’ famous hospitality.

“We wanted to create an experience that feels like a celebration of everything the Sunshine Coast does well — art, design, food and connection,” Ms Murray said. “It’s the perfect pre-Christmas day out for anyone who loves beautiful things made close to home.”

Saturday’s program includes a special Artisan High Tea at 10am, followed by a “sip and shop” session that runs through the afternoon into the evening. The fair continues on Sunday from 9am to 3pm, with entry free for the public.

The event will be followed by Sculpture on the Edge, presented by Arts Connect Inc, returning for its 16th year from 29 November to 7 December 2025. The nine-day exhibition will again transform the Flaxton Gardens grounds into an open-air gallery, with a mix of indoor and outdoor works available for purchase.

“It’s a really special time at Flaxton,” Ms Murray said. “Visitors can wander through the sculpture trail, enjoy a meal or wine on the terrace, and take in some truly world-class art in one of the most beautiful settings on the Coast.”

Throughout Sculpture on the Edge, guests can “Dine on the Edge”, with a complimentary house beverage offered when ordering two courses at once.

Both events celebrate the region’s reputation for artistry and hospitality, strengthening Flaxton’s position as a key cultural destination in the hinterland calendar.
