Maleny Farm Fest to showcase innovation and resilience in farming

Maleny Farm Fest, November 22, Maleny Showgrounds

The Maleny Agricultural Show Society is preparing to launch a bold new initiative, the inaugural Maleny Farm Fest, on Saturday November 22 at the Maleny Showgrounds.

The free one-day celebration will shine a spotlight on farming innovation, resilience and opportunity with more than 35 exhibitors, delicious food vendors, and 18 expert speakers across four venues.

Coordinator Theresa Craig said the event was designed to support the region’s landholders and producers, from small block owners to large-scale farmers, with a full program to educate, equip and connect.

“We’ve got 18 different speakers on four different stages covering topics from cooking demos, rural mental health, ag careers, small livestock handbook and grazing management,” she said.

There will also be demonstrations on a range of topics from chainsaw safety, orchid growing, soil health, composting, animal nutrition, animal health and biosecurity, bee keeping, small engine maintenance and even cooking and sausage making. “It’s about delivering knowledge that can be applied immediately back on the farm,” said Show Society President Lynda Burgess.

Visitors will also find live equipment demonstrations and trade displays showcasing everything from hill-ready mowers, small tractors and side-by-side utility vehicles, to fencing solutions, irrigation systems, renewable energy technology and drones. Local produce and farm supplies, as well as hardware, tools and accessories, will also be on display.

The event is set to attract a qualified audience eager to learn, connect and invest in their farms, while also offering businesses and service providers a chance to present their products directly to end users.

Maleny Farm Fest promises to be both educational and enjoyable – a day where innovation meets community spirit in the heart of the Hinterland.
