All-star line-up for Blackbox Theatre concert

Michael Waugh is a revered songwriter, a compelling live performer and an extraordinary storyteller.

He’ll be headlining Sunday Folk at the Blackbox Theatre in Nambour on Sunday 6th July at 2pm. Michael’s new album Beauty and Truth paints vivid, joyous, funny and loving pictures of growing up queer in rural Australia. In 2024 it won the prestigious Folk Alliance ‘Contemporary Folk Album of the Year’ award and received five nominations in the Golden Guitar Awards.

Opening the show for him are The Bobkatz from Hervey Bay. For almost three decades The Bobkatz have enjoyed incredible success in the Australian Country Music industry releasing eight albums and 21 singles, including two national #1s. Their current line-up features founding member Garry Koehler’s daughter Sarah following the popular songwriter’s passing in 2019.

As always at Sunday Folk, the show will be hosted by Karen Law and her family with tea, coffee, cakes and kindness available to everyone.

Tickets are available on Trybooking to pre-purchase for just $25 (adults) or $15 (youth). You are strongly advised to book. Door sales will be $30. Online ticket link: https://www.trybooking.com/CZUVV
