YADCA celebrates the opening of a new fenced dog park

From YADCA President Marie Reeve

Yandina & District Community Association expresses its sincere gratitude for the successful development and opening of the new dog park at Tea Tree Park, Pioneer Road Yandina. We were pleased to see this project come to fruition and look forward to the positive impact this will have for our community.

YADCA members have been advocating for a dedicated space where dogs can exercise and socialise safely. The opening of this local fenced dog park means people can walk, rather than drive, to an off-leash exercise area.

We thank Cr David Law for his role in making this happen and appreciate that he listened to our requests, backed our cause and ensured Council recognised this significant community need. The new dog park will be an asset to our neighbourhood providing:

• A vibrant space where residents and their canine companions can connect and form new friendships.

• A clean and secure area for dogs to play and train, promoting responsible pet ownership.

• A new community space that fosters a sense of community.

The community facility is not only limited to dog owners, as people in our community not currently in a space where pet ownership is possible, can also enjoy community connection watching dogs at play. The dog park is beside the Yandina Historic House, and while dogs are not allowed inside or on the verandah of the Historic House, there are picnic tables in the grounds where dog owners can sit and enjoy a hot drink and snack, if they are there during Historic House opening hours (Monday to Friday 9.30-2.30).
